We all know the feeling of excitement and expectation when we’ve ordered something new and have to patiently (or impatiently) wait for it to be delivered. At Coastwood Furniture our product will either be delivered to the store you have purchased through, or directly to you. Whichever method you’re dealing with, if you have any concerns relating to the delivery of your furniture, we’re here to explain how our delivery process works.
Who will deliver my furniture?
Our freight around the South Island is currently delivered by Southway Transport, while our North Island freight is delivered by Conroy Logistics. The majority of our furniture is sent with these two companies, however If you’re lucky enough to live on the West Coast then you may see our in-house delivery team.
How long will the delivery of my new furniture take and what will it cost?
Delivery will usually take between 3 -10 working days, depending on where the product is going. If it is headed to an outlying area such as Northland or Waiheke Island, a third-party carrier may be used, which can cause some delays. Bear in mind that the delivery times are subject to change, (we all know how crazy shipping can get with things like Covid lurking around) and this is on top of the manufacturing time.
All furniture is delivered free of charge from Coastwood into stores, from there it is up to the store to arrange further delivery to the end customer. For any direct deliveries- from Coastwood directly to the end customer, there is a small freight charge dependent on the area, which you’ll be notified of at the time of purchase.
How will my new furniture be delivered? (what to expect)
All furniture has top protection applied at Coastwood Furniture, to keep your furniture safe and secure throughout its shipping journey. We try to keep the wrapping limited so that the freight company can see what they’re dealing with. Once the furniture is picked up, all products will be blanket wrapped in heavy duty furniture blankets for added protection. These blankets are removed in the truck before the furniture is unloaded at its destination.
If delivery is to a store: The store will check the product over when it arrives before signing that it has been received in good order and condition. Once the store has the product, they will make contact with the end customer regarding the delivery from there.
If delivery is direct to you: The freight company will contact you before the delivery and arrange a time that suits for the product to be delivered. Delivery as standard is to the door but if you have other requirements, please discuss these with the representative who calls you. Please note that there may only be one driver per truck so if you are needing help with lifting, please also mention this to them when they call.
Will my furniture arrive assembled?
Most products leave Coastwood Furniture fully assembled and ready to use, with the exception of all beds and some chairs and tables. These will need to be self-assembled once you receive the product. Assembly is straightforward and your furniture will come with instructions to help you. Some tables come with their legs separate from the table tops so these will just need to be attached. To see our full assembly guides, please open up the product page and click on the link under the product 'Features' - it will say something like this:
Simple assembly required - click to view instructions.
What do I do if I don't like my furniture when it arrives?
We sincerely hope you love your new furniture and do our best to make sure it arrives to you in top-notch condition. However, in the unlikely event there is an issue with your product when it arrives, please immediately take some photos of the issues and contact the store you purchased through. Alternatively, you can contact us direct at sales@coastwoodfurniture.co.nz and we’ll do whatever we can to make things right.
We hope you have a successful buying journey and that the freight company will be knocking on your door any minute now!
